The larger town of Easton, 20 min. away, offers art galleries, golf courses, fine and casual dining, lots of shops, movies, and live entertainment at the fully restored, historic, art deco Avalon Theater. The Chesapeake Maritime Museum, gourmet/casual dining, antiquing, boutique shops, and golf are available in the nearby Victorian village of St. Michaels. You can also pamper yourself there with a spa treatment and fine dining at 'The Inn at Perry Cabin...fronting on the Miles River. ALL of this is located just 1 1/2 hrs. from Washington or Baltimore. Boat charters are also available at area marinas.
The Oxford Bellevue Ferry is a few minutes walk which will deliver you to another charming town. You can access it by car, on foot, or your bike. Once there, you will love to bike ride around one of the most beautiful and quaint villages on the eastern shore. Must stop at the Scottish Creamery where you will find homemade ice cream in many flavors...a VERY popular stop for locals and tourists!
